Privacy Policy

1. Information you give us

Account: your name, email address and a securely hashed password. We use them to run your account, let you log in, and contact you about your account or purchases.

Purchases: payments are handled by Polar. We receive your Polar customer ID, what you bought, your subscription status and your license keys. We never see or store your card details.

Messages: if you email us or send a problem report with a contact address, we use it to reply.

2. What stays on your computer

Your projects, files, chats with your team, your team’s memory and your vault of keys are stored on your computer. We do not receive them.

When your team works, the app sends your requests directly from your computer to the AI provider you connected. That provider processes them under its own privacy policy. Vanel does not see or store this content.

3. Anonymous usage statistics

The app can send anonymous events, such as which features are used, app version, operating system and error reports, together with a random install ID that is not linked to your account. They never include chat content, files, keys or other personal content.

You can turn this off at any time in the app’s settings. Where the law requires consent (for example in the EU), we ask before sending anything.

4. Problem reports

When you choose “Report a problem”, the app shows you what will be sent before you send it: your description, app and system versions, and recent app logs with personal details removed. A screenshot is included only if you choose to add one.

Reports are stored on our server and used only to fix problems. We delete them when they are no longer needed, and at the latest after 12 months.

5. Cookies and this website

We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We remember your theme choice in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Our servers see your IP address when you visit. We use it to protect the service, for example to limit repeated attempts, and do not keep it in our database.

6. Who we share information with

We share information only with services that help us run Vanel: Polar (payments and invoices), our hosting provider in Germany (servers and database), and GitHub (storing app releases). They may only use it to provide their service to us. We do not sell your information.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account while it is open. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Anonymous statistics are kept in aggregated or anonymous form.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it, by writing to privacy@getvanel.com. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

Vanel is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes and contact
